This high-end residential build, located in Cincinnati, was designed by Zobrist Design Group.

The architect’s distinctive vision for the design included a covered terrace with bluestone finishes and ribbon windows spanning the entire perimeter of the home.

Our structural engineering team collaborated effectively with the Zobrist team, devising intelligent structural solutions to bring the designer’s ambitious vision and intricate features to life.

The covered terrace was designed structurally using concrete on a metal deck and steel beams, providing support for the bluestone finishes and a high-end copper hot tub.

For lateral stability in the ribbon windows, cantilevered PSL columns and shear walls were used.

The combination of straps, clips, and column caps helped collect the lateral load into the columns, transferring it to the shear walls below the windows.
